Customer Reviews

Artboard 1

I’ve been playing baseball games for over 50 years and your game ranks right up there with the best I’ve played. Loved the ballparks and the overall in-depth [nature] of the game.

Artboard 1

Precision BB is the most detailed of all of Brian's games so far, and I love that. So much nuance to the play, and many possible outcomes, just like real baseball. I easily get immersed for hours with this game!

Artboard 1

This is an incredibly comprehensive and well-thought-out game. It feels like baseball. Kudos to the designer.

How Does the Game Play?

Dice

To play Precision Baseball you will (ideally) need to provide three d10 dice of different colors, one d20 (or combination of d10s) and markers/tokens for keeping track of pitcher stamina.

Time to Play

Once you get into the groove the game should take 1-1.5 hours to complete. There are some gamer decisions to make throughout the game and (often) multiple chart lookups per at bat.

Number of Players

Precision Baseball plays great as a solo or multi-player game. Solo players can sit back and watch the game unfold or make key strategic decisions on offense and defense that will affect each game.

Splits for Everything

All batter/pitcher interactions begin and end with splits. Choose your lineups and pitchers based on their abilities against right- or left-handed opponents. Every personnel decision affects your chances of winning a game creating deep managerial strategies before even taking the field.

It's All in the Cards

Everything you need to get each play started is on the player cards. Approximately half of all results in a game come directly off the player cards with no chart involvement. Play results, fielding, and baserunning ratings are printed directly on the cards for easy reference. Each player also has his actual season splits stats against opponents, helping you make better personnel decisions in real-time.

Precise Fielding

Precision Baseball features one of the deepest and most precise fielding systems in tabletop baseball. Normal and Infield In plays are split out by baserunner situation and put into a 3d10 game engine.

Highlight Plays

A highlight play system for each batted ball type, walks, and strikeouts brings color and one-of-a-kind moments into the game. Some plays are literally one-in-a-million plays that happened on a baseball diamond while others are the plays that fill up highlight reels every night during the season.

Simple Chart System

The charts in the game create precision in the field and on the basepaths. These colorful, simple to read charts are easy to use and are grouped according to times used in the game. Many of the most used charts are on the same page making it easy to find what you're looking for and decreasing the overall footprint of the game.

Game Play Sequences

A game play sequences workflow has been included to help you learn what to do and remember for each type of play result. This is a useful companion to get you up and running quickly and be able to include all the precision of the game easily.

Deep Baserunning

Precision Baseball includes one of the deepest baserunning systems for the tabletop. Built to be used for solo or head-to-head play each baserunning situation is based on each player's actual baserunning statistics. Each team's aggression level also comes into play in every situation. Take extra bases and even figure out trail runner movement using the colorful, easy-to-use baserunning charts.

Situational Baseball

On-field strategies like bunting, stealing, and hit & run plays are easy to use and include a variety of common and uncommon results. A mix of positive and negative plays brings true risk-reward decisions into each strategy choice.

Manager Tendencies

Each manager's tendencies are included with the game allowing gamers to make decisions for stealing, sacrifices, intentional walks, and more just like the manager did during the season.

Ballpark Effects

Ballparks have a huge effect on every game. The unique characteristics of each park are accounted for and affect hits, robbing home runs, and even foul popups. Sprinkled into the hit results are ballpark specific results based on actual park ground rules and features.

Baserunning Tendencies

One of the most difficult parts of a replay is deciding how aggressive to be on the basepaths with runners. How did the team handle its baserunners during the season? Precision Baseball provides extra base and trail runner tendencies for each team that work hand-in-hand with the advanced baserunning chart to give you more precise understanding and control of the running game.

Full-Color Game Guide

A detailed, full-color game guide is included with each season purchase. It walks you through the player cards, abbreviations, charts, and situations used in the game. The game guide is presented in a clear, logical way that helps you understand not only how to play the game but also the strategies and game decisions that went into a mechanic. A full YouTube tutorial is also available for Precision Baseball for visual/auditory instruction.
