Midfield is a free American Football tabletop board game. Simplicity of game play and the ability to customize the game are what Midfield is all about. The game plays in about an hour and gives you the freedom to build the game to the level of detail you want to see.
Midfield joins the marketplace as another wonderful complementary dice and chart football game. It is an efficient, small footprint game (two charts and a field/clock), that plays with an elegant one roll per snap result system. One needs two pair of six-sided dice, and a d100 percentage pair of dice to play. One can create fictional teams in seconds or spend some time creating any team in history.
Using 2d6 and 2d10 dice you'll be able to get right into the game. You'll need only the single game chart and a way to track the game and score.

Midfield is created with the hope that you as the gamer will take the base game and add in the details you want to see in the game.
Each play is broken down into Rushing and Passing plays. The play results give an indication of the players and formations involved, providing an easy to understand narrative for the play. The bright yellow squares are an opportunity to break a tackle and add on extra yards.
Penalties and turnovers can kill a drive or keep it alive. Midfield Football has an easy to implement system for applying penalties and turnovers based on different play result types.
Special teams are simple to figure out but provide enough depth and variety to give you a new experience every time. There are blocks, possible touchdowns, and even a bad snap on the punt attempt! A unique field goal kicking system allows for accurate field goal kicking.
When creating teams you can assign coaches to each team. Customize the coaches as you see fit or create new coaches with special in-game bonuses and bonuses that come into play when playing out a career.
